I don’t really watch a lot of book trailers because most of them tend to be rather boring, utilizing cheesy special effects with often not very well done flash animations and stock music.
But I had to share this one, for two reasons:
1) Because the animation in this trailer is fantastic! It really gets across the theme and concept of the book without giving away much of the plot, which makes it very intriguing. I actually want to read this now.
And 2) The voice in the trailer was done by Toby Turner AKA Tobuscus on Youtube. I didn’t quite believe it at first because the voice in the trailer sounds so deep, but looking on Toby’s own Twitter account on the day the trailer came out, he did tweet that he did the voice.
Which just makes the book trailer even more awesome. Check it out below!
There seems to be a new trend out lately as people get more and more into watching movie trailers online. Companies are now releasing teasers of a trailer to draw in more interest before releasing the full length trailer for a movie.
They did it with the new Total Recall, and now they are doing it with Looper, a new scifi flick starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.
Looper has a very interesting concept behind the movie: what would happen if you had to travel into the future to kill your future self.
Check out the teaser below:
The full-length trailer comes out in three days, so keep any eye out.
The new season of Doctor Who is something that I am definitely looking forward to. Even though it means the inevitable departure of my favorite Companions yet, Amy and Rory, there is plenty to be excited about.
First of all, Amy and Rory will not be leaving right away, as is evident by the fact that Rory’s father, played by Mark Williams (Mr. Weasley from Harry Potter), will be making an appearance.
Secondly, Ben Browder, who geeks will remember, from the awesome scifi shows Farscape and Stargate SG-1, will be guest-starring in a western-themed episode! I sort of had a geekgasm when I saw that.
And thirdly, there is a new Companion this season.
Jenna-Louise Coleman has been cast as the new space-traveling Tardis gal, and it seems that she will make an interesting counterpart to the Doctor because she can actually talk faster than he can.
You can check out the new trailer for Season 7 below.
The new season will be starting sometime later this year.
The newest trailer for Prometheus came out today and it is so epic and inspiring!
After the first trailer for this film came out, there was a lot of speculation that it was a prequel to the Alien Saga, especially since the project is helmed by Ridley Scott himself, the man who directed the original Alien movie. With this new trailer, I think it’s pretty obvious that it is, but it also looks like it is so much more than that.
Honestly when I first heard about Cabin in the Woods, I was kind of iffy on it. Even though it is written by the amazing Joss Whedon (and I do bow before him), there wasn’t a whole lot of information about the plot or anything, so I thought it was probably just your typical horro flick that takes place in a cabin in the woods.
But this trailer and the one released a few months ago proves otherwise. They both start out making you think that the movie is just a regular horror flick, but then it shows off that it really isn’t! I mean, it almost looks a science fiction film, rather than horror.
Plus, it’s got Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Star Trek), Fran Kranz (Dollhouse), and Richard Jenkins (Lord Marshall in Chronicles of Riddick) in it! Please excuse me while I geek out a little over that. XD
Also, I saw someone commented on youtube that the five characters sort of resemble the Mystery Inc. gang from Scooby Doo, and looking that them (especially Fran Kranz, who looks very Shaggy-like) I kind of have to agree. Which just makes me like this movie more.

Anyways, these trailers do have me pretty excited for the film, so I can’t wait for the movie to come out!
Excitement is building for many fans of the Hunger Games books (myself included) as we role closer and closer to opening day. Lionsgate is only adding to it by releasing more clips, trailers, and tv spots.
Now they have released a clip showing Katniss and Cinna meeting for the first time.
Check out the clip below!
Of course this is not the only clip that has been shared from the Hunger Games. So, because I didn’t not post about it before, here is the clip of Katniss showing off her archery skills to very inattentive judges.
While watching the newest episode of Walking Dead (always a good show), my interest was piqued during the commercials when a live action trailer started airing for Mass Effect 3. I didn’t know right away what the trailer was for, but I could tell it wasn’t just a post-apocalyptic themed commercial (like the Chevy Superbowl Ad, loved that one). Broc actually figured it out before I did that it was a Mass Effect 3 live action trailer.
Check it out below!
And this actually isn’t even the first live action trailer released for the game. 8 months ago there was another one released for E3 2011. Check it out on Youtube.
Ever since Bungie did live action trailer for Halo: Reach, they seem to be becoming a trend. Not that I’m complaining, it’s kind of neat to see video game companies branching out with their promotional material, and creating a live action trailer instead of just editing together cut scenes seems to be a much more dedicated way of doing it. I look forward to seeing more in the future.
Mass Effect 3 comes out for XBox 360, PS3, and PC on March 6th.
