Okay, I have been in love with the song “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers for a good while (thanks to the sweet movie Benny and Joon), but now it has been made even more awesome by the cast and crew of one of my favorite TV shows, Doctor Who!

I literally had tears in my eyes while I was watching it, it’s so awesome! If you love Doctor Who, you will love this too.

Recently in an interview Joss Whedon was asked who would win a fight between Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the Avenger’s Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff). Since he knows both characters extremely well, having created and written for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer television show and writing and directing the upcoming Avenger’s movie, he answered with this:

Buffy would go easy at first, but as soon as Natasha popped her with a Widow Sting, she’d start bringing some slayer brawn to the fray. Natasha’s fast, but a couple of good connects and she’s wobbling, possibly something broken — she whips out her glock and now Buffy’s dodging — right where Natasha wants her. Natasha shoots the cable holding the steel barrels and they tumble onto Buffy, nearly burying her — Buffy just arcs out of the way, grabbing the splintered cable and swinging directly onto Natasha, a bullet grazing her cheek as her feet land hard on the Russian’s shoulders, sending her back flat – crack! – on the floor, Buffy wrenching the gun away and tossing it, fist ready for the final strike. Natasha, struggling to stay conscious, says the fight’s over. Buffy agrees, but Natasha explains: She poisoned Buffy hours ago. That waitress that brought her salad …? Natasha smiles. The poison is dormant — ’til it’s activated by adrenaline. Buffy’s eyes narrow. “Too bad I didn’t use any.” Wham! Natasha’s out for the count, and Buffy’s heading — slowly — to Willow for a mystical cleanse.

That’d be my first guess.

The man is amazing. And that is why I shall forever be a fan of his.

The new season of Doctor Who is something that I am definitely looking forward to. Even though it means the inevitable departure of my favorite Companions yet, Amy and Rory, there is plenty to be excited about.

First of all, Amy and Rory will not be leaving right away, as is evident by the fact that Rory’s father, played by Mark Williams (Mr. Weasley from Harry Potter), will be making an appearance.

Secondly, Ben Browder, who geeks will remember, from the awesome scifi shows Farscape and Stargate SG-1, will be guest-starring in a western-themed episode! I sort of had a geekgasm when I saw that.

And thirdly, there is a new Companion this season.

Jenna-Louise Coleman has been cast as the new space-traveling Tardis gal, and it seems that she will make an interesting counterpart to the Doctor because she can actually talk faster than he can.

You can check out the new trailer for Season 7 below.

The new season will be starting sometime later this year.

Honda released their commercial for the Superbowl recently, and it is hilarious! It’s a parody of the beloved 80′s movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, starring Matthew Broderick as himself. Check it out!

I have to say, the car industry is really starting to cater to the geeky crowd lately, which is great for us geeks, because we get way more enjoyment out of them.

At the start of the year, a Doctor Who fan and Youtuber, LastWhovian, uploaded a beautifully cut-together fan trailer celebrating the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who. As a big Doctor Who fan myself, I had to share it with you.

And if you’re curious, the music a mix created by the same person, from “Starvation” by Thomas Bergersen (from Two Steps from Hell) and “Battle for New York” from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 soundtrack by Brian Tyler.

I don’t know about you guys, but I always find it fascinating to see the difference between what was actually filmed with the camera and the final result.

I, like a lot of Doctor Who fans out there, feel like I’ve had my heart crushed recently.

Because apparently the people in charge of our beloved show over at BBC have decided that Doctor will not be getting a full season for season 7 in 2012.

This year, as some may already know, season 6 is being divided in half, and the second half of the season is to air later in the year. The fact that Doctor Who isn’t even getting a full season next year is not only saddening, it’s also worrying.

It almost sounds like BBC is trying to get Doctor Who cancelled by frustrating the viewers into not watching the show anymore. Hopefully there are enough of us loyal fans to keep Doctor Who going.
